The Environmental Project Report (EPR) was available for review for a 30-day review period from January 21, 2022 to February 22, 2022. On March 28, 2022, the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks issued a Notice to Proceed with the transit project in accordance with Ontario Regulation 231/08. As the final step of the Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP), Metrolinx and Durham Region have issued a Statement of Completion in accordance with Ontario Regulation 231/08.

Durham Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit Whitby Update Live (May 20, 2021):
The Whitby Chamber of Commerce participated in another Metrolinx and the DSBRT Project Team held another public engagement session. Virtually, the newly refined preliminary design for the downtown was presented, as well the project spanning across the Town of Whitby. It followed with a Q&A from participants.
Metrolinx and the Durham-Scarborough BRT Project Presentation to Whitby Chamber of Commerce Membership (May 12, 2021):
Metrolinx and Durham Region hosted the Whitby Chamber of Commerce membership to review the refined preliminary design for the Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (DSBRT) project, presented to the Town of Whitby Council at a Special Meeting on April 22, 2021. If you missed that session, this event encouraged members to learn more about this project, the latest design for Whitby, and have your questions and concerns addressed.
The purpose of the virtual meeting was to continue to engage our membership, review and discuss the latest design, as well as address project impacts and mitigation measures.
Metrolinx and the Town of Whitby Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit Project Presentation (April 22, 2021):
On Thursday, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. Metrolinx presented an update on their proposed design for the new Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route along Highway 2 in Whitby at a Special Council Meeting. The Whitby Chamber of Commerce (WCC) was in attendance and appreciated the overview slide regarding the engagement efforts completed to date. We began our engagement at the first public consultation in June 2019 with several representatives from the WCC at this event.
This transit project proposes approximately 36 kilometres of dedicated transit infrastructure, connecting downtown Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering and Scarborough.

Metrolinx and the Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project Team have refined the preliminary design for Downtown Whitby to address community concerns and hosted a virtual open house on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
