Whitby Chamber of Commerce hosts Provincial Election Forum
Whitby, Ont., May 14, 2018 – On June 7, 2018, Ontarians will head to the polls. The Whitby Chamber of Commerce (WCC) will be hosting a 2018 Provincial Election Forum with candidates in the Whitby Riding. Moderated by Kevin Baker, Principal of the Durham College Whitby campus, this event will be a question-and-answer session versus a traditional and more formal debate.
An initial list of questions has been prepared through submissions from the business community in a number of different ways including the WCC’s 2018 Advocacy Survey.
In keeping with the provincial Vote Prosperity platform for all Ontario Chambers and Boards of Trade, questions will focus on key business pillars designed to strengthen business competitiveness, foster job creation, build healthy communities and improve government accountability.
The 2018 Provincial Election Forum will be open to all to attend, but also be broadcast live on CKDO, courtesy of Advocis Durham Chapter, and on Rogers TV Durham.
Candidates include (in alphabetical order): Lorne Coe, Conservative Party of Ontario; Stacey Leadbetter, Green Party of Ontario; Niki Lundquist, New Democrats Party of Ontario; and Leisa Washington, Liberal Party of Ontario.
